Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.67%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumption, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.67% to hit a new 6-months low.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Brava Energia SA (BVMF:BRAV3), which rose 10.64% or 2.17 points to trade at 22.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) added 3.75% or 0.15 points to end at 4.15 and Automob Participações SA (BVMF:AMOB3) was up 2.94% or 0.01 points to 0.35 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3), which fell 7.17% or 0.36 points to trade at 4.66 at the close. Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) declined 4.62% or 0.26 points to end at 5.37 and Lwsa SA (BVMF:LWSA3) was down 3.30% or 0.11 points to 3.22.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 519 to 437 and 49 ended unchanged.

Shares in Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) fell to all time lows; down 4.62% or 0.26 to 5.37. Shares in Lwsa SA (BVMF:LWSA3) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.30% or 0.11 to 3.22.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.25% to 33.01.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.81% or 21.39 to $2,632.51 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.95% or 0.66 to hit $70.28 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 0.88% or 2.85 to trade at $321.80 .

USD/BRL was up 0.23% to 6.20, while EUR/BRL rose 0.59% to 6.46.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 107.82.
